The Parkdale Gift / Beachside Gift
A Brief History…..
From 2019-2021 the Parkdale Gift was held at the revamped Parkdale Oval – Gerry Green Reserve. The first three years saw boxing, darts, tennis, mass health start – morning yoga, and the main attraction, Professional Athletics. This has been coupled with the pre-event dinner, hosting a panel of experts with the themes: Women in Sport & Mind Games.
Since it’s inception and still currently, the main goal was to create an event into an ongoing financially viable and sustainable community event of significance within Victoria and specifically the municipality of the City of Kingston. The vision has always been to involve the Melbourne community, local sporting clubs, schools, businesses and the local community.
The initial success has seen the event capture the coveted VRTA (Victorian Runners and Trainers Association) ‘Meeting of The Year’ on two occasions.
2022 (post pandemic) will see the event re-brand itself as the Beachside Gift held at Mentone Reserve, home of the St. Bedes Mentone Tigers Football Club.
